Summer Lovin'

The summer has already gone by so fast!  Lucas is 8 weeks old today and I just can't believe it.  Shawn says he has gone from "twiggy to piggy".  He really has and it's just so cute!  From certain angles he looks like an old man with his receding hairline, but his hair is growing back, so that makes me happy!  So many fun things he is doing now.  Smiling, cooing, (almost) laughing, talking, doing push ups, holding his weight on his legs.   He is just such a big boy!  At his 2 month appointment he weighed in at 11 lbs 3 oz and 22.5 inches long.  I can't believe it!  Shawn's mom says I am pure cream :)

The cousins...Cooper and Lucas

I love my Great Grandma Joyce!

Well, Lucas is not the only thing that has been going on.  Last week we had Payton all week while her mom got married and went on her honeymoon.  We did some fun things.  One of them being Wheeler farm.  If no one has ever been there, it's this free farm/park where kids can see ducks, cows, pigs, chickens, goats, turkeys, rabbits, horses, and sheep.  There may be more that I'm forgetting, but all in all, she had a good time.

A very large smile from a very happy girl

Shawn has been so busy this summer.  Work, school, tennis, study groups, softball!  However, we were able to take a break from everything last night when we went to Red Butte Gardens to see our favorite, Josh Ritter play!  He is so awesome and we just love his Royal City Band!  The bassist has this crazy moustache, Josh is always so happy when he sings, the drummer....is priceless!  He has the best face.  I just love that they all get so into it and love what they do.

Waiting for JOSH

Zachariah..he has his own brand of moustache wax!

Happy Josh

Drummer Sam...he may look angry, but trust me, he has the  best drummer face!

I think it's time...

Well, it's time to write about our new sweet addition....Baby Boy Hancock.  He was born 5.25.  He weighed 6 lbs 5 oz and was 20 in long.  In the previous weeks Shawn had tried to persuade me that Noah was the name for this boy child, but I was just not interested.  While we were waiting for this baby to be born, Shawn was writing on the white board, Noah Foster, Lucas Foster....still, I was shaking my head to Noah.  As the day pressed on, the contractions got worse, but he wanted to be here so quickly!  After 6 hours of pitocin, morphine  and a 10 minute push our baby boy was born.  They cleaned him off, weighed him and well, he was a no name.  To Shawn he looked like a Lucas, to me, he looked like a Noah...we totally flip-flopped!  We had some visitors come and ask his name and we just couldn't decide.  Well, about 10:30 that night I said, okay, we need to name this child!  We stared at him for a little longer and came to the agreement that we would call him, Lucas Foster Hancock.  And now, I can't see him as anything else.  We are just so in love with him and he is such a good baby!

The following pictures are the first three weeks of his life:

Little baby Lucas..he was starving when he came out...he has been a good eater from the start :)

This is the 2 second pacifier suckage...it's almost as big as his face!

Pink's 'Perfect'

My new favorite show is 'The Voice'.  There was so much anticipation leading up to it, and they did not disappoint (me at least).  And if you have seen it and happened to miss last nights episode, or just want to see the best performance of this song ever....sit, relax and enjoy!!!

34 weeks and counting

Well, as you may have seen the profile pregnant picture in the last post, I am getting quite large with child.  I must say, that I am so done being pregnant!  I am constantly complaining about something.  I am so uncomfortable, sleeping is a joke, going to the bathroom every 20 minutes, needing to eat something every 10 seconds because you can't eat a whole lot at one time, there is just no room!  Heartburn, can I get some relief?  It's a billion degrees everywhere I go.  For example, at church the other day the window was open and I just thought, Praise the Lord!  Well, the lady in front of me asked if I would shut it a bit, so I did, but not much.  And then Shawn came in and was like, will you just close it all the way?  And I just thought, you big baby!  But then I realized I was probably freezing everyone out, but really, everyone should cater to the pregnant woman right?

I was happy to hear that my doctor will induce me on the 25th of May.  We tried to do it earlier, but there were too many conflicting factors, which made me kind of sad, but I do have a feeling that I will end up going into labor before the 25th, but I also shouldn't get my hopes up in case I don't.

We have everything ready for the baby.  Shawn has been the one nesting which has been really nice.  He is the one with the design background, so I feel that he would make it look nicer than I ever could.  We are just ready to go.  Waiting for the time to pass.  Anxious and Excited....maybe that's why time has slowed way down!?

So, there you have it on the tail end of my pregnancy.  I am more than ready to have this boychild :)

Happy Easter(s)

I say this because we not only had one, but two Easter Sunday's.  We celebrated a week early with my sister while she was in town, and then of course, real Easter.  They were both lovely.  There was your typical ham and potatoes at both places, but there were also some different things.  I wish I would have gotten a picture of the famous, "bunny cake," but I may have to wait until next year.  It's just carrot cake shaped like a bunny!  Shawn claims he is afraid of it, but he knows he loves it.  I have had the bunny cake ever since I can even remember.  I'm still not sure how my Grandma makes it, but I know she does  it with love :)

Easter Egg Hunt number 1

Poor Preston, he was so imprisoned!

The two preggo's...here I am at 35 weeks and Camille at 21.

Dying the eggs.  The kit was a 'Marble Egg' kit and they actually were really cool.  Kind of gross because you had to use oil, but Payton screamed every time with excitement when they would marble.

The done ones.  If you look closely you will see on the front middle colored egg, "egg earth".

Egg Hunt number 4/5?  Payton went to so many, we lost track.  But they are off!

So far things are looking good.

On her dress you will see bark...well you see, that is because she was going so fast that  she ended up falling.

And here we have Shawn and Jack enjoying the festivities.  (Is it just me or does the tree in the background look like Jack's hair?)

Before and After

Well, I would first like to say that it's officially Spring.  Which we all know what that means!  Time to freshen things up, change your appearance in one way or another.  According to me at least.  And for me, that change usually comes in my hair color because there is nothing else that I can either afford, or is safe for me to do at the current moment.

BEFORE...dull, lifeless.

AFTER...shiny, red, and healthy!

Events of March

I realize that March is not over yet, but I thought that I would post the exciting things that have happened so far....

Olivia's First Birthday.  Isn't she cute?

Jack Attack!  Celebrating Olivia.

And as most first birthday's go, this was not much cleaner once she realized she didn't have to be so dainty.

These are the cute boots that Shawn got me for Christmas.  Well, they were too big, so we had to take them to get a smaller size.  Since I have munchkin feet, I had to get them custom ordered.   They then tell me that it will take about 4 weeks for them to come in, they'll call when they are ready.  This was maybe the 8th of January.  So a month later I call and they tell me they are not there, but they will call me.  Well, by the first of the month I kind of forgot about them, until a week or so ago.  I called, they took like 2 hours to get back to me and said, we just got them in.  Sure.....anyway, all in all, they were worth the wait!
Shamrock Cookies for St. Patty's Day!  Payton made the stems :)

BABY BEDDING!!!  This causes me great relief.  I love the added touch of Big Toe,  a blue Pascal and a penguin.

I just would like to add that this week I will have 9 weeks left of pregnancy!!!  I don't think you know the joy that it brings my soul.  Happy March!
