One last hoorah

We decided to take one last trip, really the only trip we took this summer!  Payton, Lucas and I drove down to St. George to meet my family.  They go every single year to Zion and to see the plays at Tuachan.  This year, they were supposed to go in June, but it was postponed due to my grandma breaking her arm (it's all better now).

So in the previous post, I mentioned the missing keys, and how we were driving off with Shawn's parents car when he found the keys!  So we reversed to the driveway, repacked our car, met my cousin Greg and his wife Cassidy at the gas station and got some snacks.  Then our journey began.  Payton was entertained by an old portable dvd player, which was excellent for me because it sure is a long boring drive.  We stopped for lunch, and tried to feed Lucas with his bottle (which he absolutely hates!), and kept on our journey.  I must say, I had the best travelers ever!  These kids are so good!  Lucas cried for maybe 10 minutes the whole car ride!

Our first stop was of course, the pool...Payton is a fish for sure!

The next morning we woke up and traveled to Zion.  As I was putting the kids in the car, I asked my mom to go into my room and get the portable dvd player since it was a long drive from our hotel to ZNP.    So she comes out with this black bag and I was like, "mom, why are you bringing the breast pump?"  It was awesome!  She thought it was the case for the dvd player.

Once we got to Zion, we decided what trail we were going to do first, and well, the only one we did.  It's definitely different when you have kids.  They don't want to go on a 13 mile hike in Cable Canyon, or climb the chains up Angles Landing, or get swept away in the high water at The Narrows right?  We went on a hike called the Emerald Pools. This hike consists of 3 pools, a lower, a middle, and an upper.  We only made it to the lower pool, but it sure was beautiful.  No one complained, except I think Lucas got hot and a little dehydrated.  People were oohing and awing over him, one Italian lady even said how 'bello' he was!

I know every parent thinks their kids are the cutest, but I am pretty sure we have the cutest kids around!

We made it in one piece!

The following day we decided that we were going to Sand Hollow.  It's like a recreational park with a reservoir and sand dunes.  It was so nice!  The sand was red (hence why Payton calls it,"'the red sand lake"), the water was beautiful!  And the best part, no one was there!  I can only imagine on weekends and probably the first part of the summer, it is packed!  It's pretty new, so maybe no one really knows about it?

"Red Sand Lake"

Later that evening we went miniature golfing with Greg and Cassidy.  Payton had never been and loved it.  She hit it in one hole in like 2 shots and she says to us, " I was thoroughly pleased with that shot!"  We all started laughing!  Sometimes I can't believe the words that come out of her mouth.  Awesome!

It was a short trip, but we all had an excellent time!  I told Payton that we will come again when she is 6.... she really wants to go the day after her birthday ;)

One Year Baby!

Shawn and I were married August 14th of last year.  We celebrated the happy day on the 13th this year because Payton, Lucas and I headed to St. George on the 14th.

The lovely day started with Shawn making a fabulous lunch of Philly Cheesesteak sandwiches (these are the best!), followed by some gift giving.  I gave Shawn a couple of cool shirts.  He in return gave me some eyeshadow, eyeshadow primer, and NUDE PUMPS!  He is the best at giving gifts.  The next activity was searching for Shawn's keys.  My car was in the garage, his was behind mine, so we weren't going ANYWHERE until we found those keys.  We looked high and low, in places that you would think, why would they be there?  Shawn dug through the trash and looked everywhere 14 different times.  The house was torn apart.  We looked outside, by the car, in the windows of the car (because of course, it was locked), underneath the car, alas, no keys were spotted.  We then talked to Shawn's dad, who was going to watch Lucas for us while we went out on a hot date and we told him, we won't be going anywhere tonight, but he insisted on letting us borrow his car for the evening, which was so nice and quite a relief.

We had a fabulous meal at Takashi!  Sushi..yum!  We then went to see, "Crazy Stupid Love", which had to be the funniest movie we have seen in a long time.  We could not stop laughing!  Steve Carell is awesome!  And I really like this Emma Stone.

We got home and did some more searching of keys.  We then gave up for some sleep, and woke up bright and early to look again.  A locksmith was called just in case they were in the car.  Still, no luck.  As we were driving off for St. George in Mark and Ka's car, I see Shawn run behind us with keys in hand!  Needless to say, it was the best anniversary present ever!

Nude Trend

Now, I am not a trend setter of any kind, nor do I really follow the trend, however, I will admit that I am totally in LOVE with this nude/natural trend.

First off, there are the tousled waves, which works out perfectly for me since I already have naturally wavy hair.  All I have to do is wash, put in some Paul Mitchell Awapuhi Wild Ginger Texturizing Sea Spray, and voila!  "Lush waves and exotic texture".  Unless of course I am in a hurry, then the diffuser comes out.

Next is the nude nail color, which has to be so totally awesome.  Not only does it look pretty, but when it starts to chip off, you barely even notice it!  The nude lip color, the barely there eye makeup, (which I can't pull off) and of course, the nude pumps....I don't have a pair yet, but I am determined to get some because they go with everything!

I realize these colors are more pink, but that is due to my skins natural undertone.  If I tried to wear the tan nude, well, it would mostly be brown on me because of my very pale skin.

This is so unnatural, but my entire life I have drooled over long eyelashes!  I have worn 3 different kinds of mascara at the same time to get the best results possible.  Now with eyelash extensions I just think, as much as I would LOVE to have those, would it be worth it?  What if they rip out my other lashes?  What if I have to get them forever?  So I just go with the alternative...achieving super thick sky high lashes with the combination of excellent mascara.

Rain Rain Go Away

I just feel like babies and kids grow so fast!  I think i mostly feel that way, because it's true.  Payton is in level 3 swimming lessons, Lucas is smiling, talking, sitting and standing (with help of course), but it's like, where does the time go?  It will be Christmas before we know it!

Just a few pics to make the rainy days seem a little less....rainy.

"It's a flying young baby on a flying trapeze..."

Payton learned how to do a cannonball!

My sweet baby boy..he does not really like to smile when a camera is in front of his face.

And yet, we somehow got lucky here!

Love this man of mine :)

As well as my super cute family

He likes to read the 'warning' label on the side of his car seat.  He's always babbling to it.
