Baby Lucas

Yes, that is right.  We have chosen a name for our baby boy and the name we will give him is Lucas.  It works for both a little boy and a grown man.  Shawn has mentioned that we can call him Jean Luc Picard....I just laughed and said, oh good, we can have Captain Kirk and Captain Picard (trekkies) in our family!

We have noticed it is a little more difficult to find cute things for baby boys than baby girls.  There are just not a lot of options.  Either you get something with transportation, or some big animals.  Since we are both a little more on the designer side of life, we are looking more for colors and patterns, that in our eyes would work for a baby. Yes, it's a bit silly if you think about it, but we just want to have a more modern/hip baby boy.

Anyway, aside from clothing and bedding and the aesthetics of our baby, we are more than thrilled to be having this wonderful child come into our lives.  Payton is excited to have a little brother.  She is always poking at him and wanting to hug him.  I can't wait for when he gets bigger and just loves to kick all the time and not shy away from a hand touching my belly so that both she and Shawn can actually feel him move.  It's fun to see him roll around in there, but you have to be watching at the right times.

I will write that I can't wait for Lucas to come out and play.  He's starting to sit on my lungs and make it difficult for me to breathe, cross my legs, just basically things that women do, I'm finding harder and harder to do.  Bend over?  Forget about it! And I'm only going to get bigger, so why complain now?  But other than being uncomfortable, hot, kind of nauseous, Lucas and I are doing great!

A little history

Shawn and I met at work actually.  He sat across from me, and to be honest, we were a little apprehensive in talking to one another.  I thought he was very attractive and I think he just thought I was a little scary, because let's be honest, at the time, I probably was.  Anyway, after a couple months of crooked smiles and getting to know you emails, we decided to actually get together.  That first night was amazing.  I had no idea Shawn was such a chatter box!  It ended by a lovely kiss on the forehead, followed by a "you're a sweetheart" and it pretty much took off from there.  There you have it, two broken people who found love and patience in each other.

Shawn thought I could move this Boulder?

Gooo Real Salt Lake!

Teacups!

Oh yes, we are at Disneyland...The happiest place on Earth :)

Is it just me, or does Shawn look like a starving artist?  I absolutely adore this photo!

I know that i put so many pictures on!  Those are just my favorites of 2009.  We have had our adventures and then some.  Soccer games, Zions, Vegas, Pine View, Disneyland, Huntington Beach!  Don't worry, there are plenty more from 2010....

Twins? Maybe..

When I was about 17 a movie came out called, "She's All That".  People would comment on the fact that Rachael Leigh Cook and I look a lot a like.  Well, I started to look into it and wonder, do I?  I have been told off and on now for several years that I look like her, so now, it's time to make your own judgement...
