California Love

Last week we had the perfect opportunity to take a last minute trip to California.Payton was on spring break, my sister needed help, my mom had work off, so why not?  Sadly, Shawn nor my dad were able to come with. We drove a lengthy 12 hours, and I must say, the kids were amazingly excellent!  It rained almost every single day, and the days it didn't rain, it was cold and overcast, but it was a nice trip.  We went to the beach, saw some seals, watched ice cream freeze in liquid nitrogen at a la minute ice cream, Andrew taught Payton how to shoot a Beebe gun, she rode a pony and fed the llamas, we ate yummy Mexican food, watched 'The Muppets' and laughed!  Lucas was obsessed with the smoke alarm, he also didn't sleep which in turn made me very sleepy, (I am still trying to recover!)  Payton got a 50,000 year old shark tooth, and a robot necklace which she believes turns her into a robot while she is wearing it.  We played a 'slug-bug' like game where whomever saw up to 20 birds of paradise was the winner!  Payton won every time :)  Good times had by all.  Before we left Payton said, "When can we move here!?"

Waiting for Payton to arrive so we could get on the road

Preston (left) calls every baby "baby Lucas"

We took advantage of the only sunny day and headed to Newport Beach!

Payton made a new friend, the blond girl on the left, her name is Samora.  (pretty sure that is the name of the girl who creeps out of the TV to kill you in "The Ring" (getting chills just thinking about it!))

Lucas hated the sand/water.  I can't really blame him though, it was like 35 degrees in the water!

Gettin' some sun

I tried to give Preston a faux hawk, Camille hated it ;)

Near a window at the Redlands Temple.  We had to sneak in with the grounds keepers....

Picking sweet juicy oranges!

Not the best pic, but having a good time on the pony, that was of course before the saddle started falling to the side.

On the way home, Lucas kept trying to wake Payton up by touching her head and saying 'uh-oh'
